Answers From a Las Vegas Eviction Attorneys

Law Practice, Ltd. provides legal representation in Nevada to our clients in order to resolve landlord/tenant disputes including, but not limited to, summary evictions and Unlawful Detainer Actions. Should you have a landlord/tenant dispute in another jurisdiction, please contact a local attorney in that jurisdiction as the laws and procedures may vary from state to state.

Why Should I Hire Law Practice, Ltd. to Assist With My Eviction?

In most cases, we are able to successfully and quickly accomplish evicting your tenant from your property. Our eviction attorneys know the applicable law, court rules and procedures, and are committed to achieving the best possible result for you. Additionally, by hiring Law Practice, Ltd., you often can save time and money because you will not need to take time off of work to stand in long lines at the courthouse to file your paperwork, serve your tenant and, in many cases, you will not be required to attend a hearing.

Are There Any Guarantees That Law Practice, Ltd. Will Evict My Tenant?

No. Nevada law prohibits any attorney from making any guarantees regarding the outcome of a particular case. However, in most cases, we are able to successfully evict your tenant if your tenant has not paid the rent, violated the terms of the rental agreement, or if you simply wish to the tenant to vacate.

If I Handle the Eviction Myself, What Will Be the Likely Result?

Very often, delays are caused because the required court forms have not been completed properly.

In Which Courts Can Law Practice, Ltd. Assist Me With My Eviction?

  • Las Vegas Justice Court
  • North Las Vegas Justice Court
  • Henderson Justice Court

What Is the Difference between a Summary Eviction & an Unlawful Detainer?

Generally, in Nevada, a tenant can be quickly and summarily evicted for non-payment of rent after the tenant has been served with and failed to comply with a 7 Day Notice to Pay Rent or Quit. This is called a summary eviction procedure. The summary eviction procedure may also be utilized to evict a residential tenant for breach of lease, nuisance, termination of tenancy at will, waste, illegal activities, and for a "no-cause" termination of tenancy. However, a formal unlawful detainer action must be used to recover possession of your property for the following types of cases:

  1. Evictions following the foreclosure or sale of a property
  2. Eviction of a commercial tenant on any basis other than non-payment of rent
  3. Eviction of a tenant who rents a space in a mobile home park
